Customer Requirement

Kinesys required a fully managed stocktake for their financial yearend process. The stocktake had to deliver a full audit trail and report variances between expected and actual stock levels.

Customer Challenges

Kinesys work in a Business2Business industry where many component suppliers fail to barcode products, or the stock is decanted into pick bins losing box barcode detail. No product barcode data is used with internal supply chain management, so no barcode information is stored within Kinesys systems.

How Signetor Delivered

Kinesys provided the Stock on Hand (SOH) file and from this product barcode labels were produced sorted by their expected location. Printing product labels by location allowed the labels to be quickly applied to the shelf or product ready for scanning. The SOH report also provided a list of locations where product was stored that required location barcode labels. This allowed the product scanned in each location to be verified with the inventory management system (IMS) and any variances to be quickly tracked down.

Each of the Signetor scanning staff were issued a staff identification barcode allowing full traceability of who scanned and counted what product at each location. The approach allows a rapid delivery of results along with a full audit trail of activity providing Kinesys and external audit teams with confidence in the results.
